We are happy to report that Faith Formation has launched this year in partnership with Holy Cross Church. Holy Cross is using a model employed by many parishes this year due to COVID. For Grades 1 – 8, each week a lead teacher records a video which is then posted and accessible for families to access at their convenience. Confirmation classes are using a different model, but are also based on mostly at home work at this time. It has been heartwarming to see how many ICC families are so invested in continuing their children’s faith formation. REGISTRATION ENDS JANUARY 14, 2021. If you have a question about the curriculum or model being used, please reach out to Margaret Dwyer Hogan directly who is spearheading this effort at mdhogan@holycrossesaton.org. If you have a child who completed Confirmation I (grade 9) last year, and have not registered them yet for Confirmation II (Grade 10) please reach out immediately so we can get them registered and caught up. Confirmation II (Grade 10) classes are using periodic zoom meetings as they work the Dynamic Catholic Decision Point program, and we would want to be sure to include them on the next one.
For over thirty years at the Christmas season, the St. Vincent de Paul Society of Immaculate Conception has sponsored the Caring Tree. Parishioners would purchase gifts for Easton children whose parents were financially struggling. Sadly, this year due to the coronavirus pandemic, SVdP is unable to safely administer the Caring Tree as we have done in past years. However, we will still be displaying our Caring Tree in the back of the church from November 28 through December 20, but with a different approach to satisfy the ever growing need for assistance by our parishioners during this coming holiday and winter season. Instead of the paper ornaments listing the child’s age, gender and size or toy preference, there will be envelopes attached to the tree. Parishioners are asked to take an envelope. Our Society is requesting ONLY monetary donations this year. This money will help us respond to the needs of Easton families who come to us for all kinds of help during the year. For your convenience, the envelopes will be stamped and addressed to: St. Vincent dePaul Society Immaculate Conception Church 193 Main Street North Easton, MA 02356 We ask that you please make checks payable to St. Vincent dePaul Society. Your generous support will allow us to provide financial assistance for food, fuel, prescriptions, emergency shelter, etc. If you find yourself needing assistance from SVdP Society, please contact the parish secretary at 508-238-3232. Please feel confident that we will uphold the strictest confidentiality with your request. We are hopeful and praying that we can return to our traditional Caring Tree in 2021. Thank you very much and stay well!
The next day-long period of Adoration of The Blessed Sacrament will be Wednesday, May 6, 2020. Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament will begin after Wednesday morning Mass at approximately 8:30 AM and then the Repose of the Blessed Sacrament will be at approximately 6:40 PM. The Blessed Sacrament should not be left exposed and unattended, so in that spirit a sign-up is available on our Parish Website or if you do not have access to a computer please call the Parish Office. You may also sign-up after each of the masses this weekend. There are sign-up sheets on clipboards on the front and rear pews of the church and on the bulletin board outside the chapel. If you have questions please see Father Ciryak or Deacon Porter.
The U.S. bishops urge our participation each Friday in a nationwide Novena for the Legal Protection of Human Life. The Novena began on August 3rd and will continue until September 28th. Participants will receive a weekly email or text reminders to pray and fast, along with little-known facts about Roe v. Wade to share with others. See the links to the right.
