"Blessed are they who mourn, for they will be comforted." Matthew 5:4
The parish family at Immaculate Conception Church offers our sincere condolences, our prayers, and our support to all who have experienced the death of a loved one. We offer to you the pastoral resources of the parish to assist you in the preparation and celebration of the rites of the church with your family and friends. As the Order of Christian Funerals says, "Christians celebrate the funeral rites to offer worship, praise, and thanksgiving to God for the gift of a life which has now been returned to God, the author of life and the hope of the just; the community acknowledges the reality of separation and commends the deceased to God. In this way it recognizes the spiritual bond that still exists between the living and dead and proclaims its belief that all the faithful will be raised up and reunited in the new heavens and the new earth, where death will be no more." General Introduction to the Order of Christian Funerals, 5 - 6.
It is advisable to contact the parish office prior to meeting with your funeral director so that preliminary plans can be discussed. Final plans will be arranged with the funeral director.
